He received his Medical Degree from The University of Exeter in 2008 and completed basic surgical training in Bristol in 2012.
He was awarded a Masters Degree in Surgical Sciences from The University of Edinburgh in 2012 and completed his dissertation under the supervision of Professor Jane Blazeby.
His higher surgical training (2012-2019) was in Oxford and during this time, he was awarded his doctoral thesis from Imperial College London under the supervision of Professor Ara The Lord Darzi of Denham.
He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Prem's academic interest is in the field of Implementation Science. He aims to improve patient safety by better understanding how hospital systems and pathways of care affect outcomes for surgical patients.
He has recently been appointed to the role of The Royal College of Surgeons of England Senior Oesophagogastric Cancer Fellow at St Thomas' Hospital, London for 2021.
