Ramy is a staff specialist endocrinologist and clinical director of the Metabolic & Weight Loss Program at Blacktown Hospital. He did his endocrinology and physician's training at St Vincent's, Concord, Blacktown and St George Hospitals. He also works in private practice in Bella Vista and privately in Fairfield.
He hails from Toronto, Canada where he graduated from the University of Toronto with a bachelor's and masters in cardiac transplantation. Ramy studied medicine at the University of Sydney where he received honours for evaluating intensive lifestyle as a successful approach to achieving sustainable weight loss and improved glycaemic outcomes at Concord Hospital. He is an early career researcher with a few dozen publications (including a book) and has given talks at both national and international conferences in endocrinology, obesity, diabetes, metabolic bone disease and thyroid disease. He is an adjunct senior lecturer at the University of Western Sydney. He is currently enrolled in a PhD degree to study the metabolic, functional and psychological outcomes following surgical and non-surgical weight loss interventions.
