Dr. Stapleton is a licensed psychologist who has been in in practice for 20 years. She has worked extensively in bariatric medicine for the past 15 years and in the field of addiction and recovery for nearly 30 years.
Dr. Stapleton has conducted over 6000 pre-surgical evaluations for patients considering bariatric surgery. Dr. Stapleton is an active member of IFSO and the ASMBS. She has presented to professional organizations and patient groups both nationally and internationally, having twice been to New Zealand to work with David and Andrea Schroeder's Weight Loss Surgery program.
Dr. Stapleton's passions are contributing to the knowledge base of bariatric professionals and assisting patients in maintaining weight loss. She hosts online classes for patients as well as in-person patient retreats. She has written a number of books related to weight loss surgery, including Eat It Up: The Complete Mind/Body/Spirit Guide to a Full Life After Weight Loss Surgery and Weight Loss Surgery Does NOT Treat Food Addiction.
She spends her free time with her husband, with their children and with their grandchildren. And whenever possible, she loves to travel with her husband and friends.
